Artist or needed (paid)

Post by logan.giannini »

So here's the deal. I had an artist, I Kickstarted the first issue of my comic, and we found a publisher. The artist, however, had greatly exaggerated his ability to meet deadlines, and after a few months passed and he hadn't even finished inks for an issue, it was time to be done.

So, I still have a publisher, but I no longer have an artist. This is a seven-issue mini-series, with the first issue completed (we haven't decided whether we will be redoing it or not). So AT LEAST six issues of work. It's an Image-style publication system, with them printing the comic and us getting our revenue based on sales. Not ideal, I know. However, they are very good about giving advances. For my previous artist, I had negotiated a deal where he was getting roughly a thousand dollars per issue up front.

So those are the technical details of the deal. I know it isn't great money (as writer, I'm only getting half that, but I just want to see the project completed) but it beats all the publishers who don't even offer that. Anyways, I'm just beginning the process of searching for a replacement, so if anyone has any interest, email me at counterfeitnickels@gmail.com or feel free to contact me via my writer page on facebook at facebook.com/loganmichaelgiannini
