Needing an artist due to our main artist resigning

Post by Nic »

Hi Dagdafrench (i have emailed you and that email is a more organized version of this post)

The name's Nic. This is also a lengthy post so if you right away want a link to samples of my literature then here = http://www.writerscafe.org/NicWryte (I have also bolded the important parts to this post for your convenience) (An 'About Me' section can be found on the website)

I am the writer to a webcomic entitled Age Of Chaos: Depths of the Past

THE WEBCOMIC WEBSITE IS = http://aoc-depthsofthepast.smackjeeves.com

The webcomic is also featured in:
Tapastic = http://www.tapastic.com/series/aoc-depthsofthepast
Deviant Art = http://nic-anime.deviantart.com
Comic Fury = http://aoc-depthsofthepast.webcomic.ws/

Before I go into what the story is about and the mechanics to the webcomic, I would like to say that I believe I have all the key things you are looking for equipped and my writing caliber is what you are looking for. I'm definitely experienced in the field of making a webcomic. The webcomic is already released and it has an established website and everything. The webcomic is also in black and white but this can be changed. As you could see in http://www.smackjeeves.com/profile.php?id=135253 I have attempted to release a webcomic twice already thus I do know how things work and I know we have to have a buffer. I am also friends with several webcomic creators and have been a longtime webcomic fan. Depending on how fast you can draw panels we most likely will be able to do a 1 page weekly release.
The second webcomic release that I attempted is still continuing on and I do hope it to be a success. I am trying my best (I even set up a buffer and a schedule). That webcomic is the one I will be talking about in this post - Age Of Chaos: Depths of the Past

Age Of Chaos: Depths of the Past is a FANTASY, ADVENTURE, ACTION based webcomic in terms of genre (with a big emphasis on fantasy). Now what is the story about? Well the story is about assassins. Basically after the Great War, assassin guilds became endangered for the information they hold and their ability to kill. Now that peace has been established these assassin guilds that were once a necessity during the war are now a threat. So the assassins fled to a country called Luna. There they created assassin villages. The climate and the cursed land of Luna protected them from their enemies. And so the assassins started rebuilding their community once again. Soon they got bigger and multiplied enough to create 6 assassin villages. The Novice Village where our webcomic begins is one of those villages. This, as the name states, is the starting point for every assassin. Here, they get enrolled into a school and learn how to become an assassin. And this is where our story begins in the life of a young boy who is about to go into the journey of becoming an assassin. Along the way he'll meet a bunch of friends, fellow assassins-to-be like him, he'll meet rivals, and face a lot of tough challenges. As we progress on we will also uncover more of the history of Kryptos Terra - the world where the story is based in. What's more is that there are around 25 different kinds of races (http://aoc-depthsofthepast.smackjeeves.com/Races/) and a bunch of interesting creatures like the Blazion that's featured in the webcomic (another creature is the Jujubite =http://nic-anime.deviantart.com/art/Jujubites-302353377)

Our webcomic team comprises of 3 members. First up is yours truly, Nic. I am the writer of the webcomic. I also manage the site, the team, and post up the webcomic strips every week. I can do flat coloring too. In addition to that, I also do the templates/storyboards for each of the strips/pages. Second in line is Yuishizu, my partner. She is the main artist of the webcomic. She does all the pencilling. And last but not least we have AJ, our inker. Age Of Chaos: Depths of the Past is a webcomic that just recently started (last September). We are almost done with Chapter 1 and 10 strips have already been released with the 11th coming out this Friday. We are in need of another artist to help out as one of our team (Yuishizu) is leaving after the holidays to pursue a career in dentistry (and also due to some parental issues) - this is where you come in = I am hoping you can fill in Yui's vacated spot.

Our process for each strip is: we, as a group, discuss the story outline and I create a template /storyboard of how I believe the page/strip should look like. Then we go back and forth with ideas on how to improve and best relay the scenes of the pages/strips we are working on - That way everyone has input and a chance to pitch in on the story (And it is now not only my(the writer’s) story but also the team's as everyone will be taking part in it. Plus a bonus: the artists get to be able to draw what they want because we take in everyone's opinions). Once we have established how we want to lay out the strip/page, Yui sketches it up. Then she sends it over to me and we make some edits. Then after all the modifications AJ inks the strip and then we asses the inked strip and add in the avatars (drawn and inked by AJ) on top. Colored strips are chapter cover pages and extra stuff such as character profiles and holiday specials. Yuishizu's artstyle can be seen in the webcomic website. AJ's artstyle/inking can be seen on her DA = http://jeendarkcat.deviantart.com/. And again samples of my literature can be seen here = http://www.writerscafe.org/NicWryte

Everyone gets a say on how the story progresses and everyone in the team gets to have their OCs/individual characters integrated into the story^^ (though the invitation to create/integrate OCs may be offered later on for the new additions to the team because we still need to get to know each other, get familiarized, and get the hang of working together).

I hope that is enough info for you! =P If you have any questions or if you just want to contact me, you can reply to this post or you can email me at nic_anime@yahoo.com. Thank you for taking your time to read all of this. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Again, MY EMAIL IS = nic_anime@yahoo.com
Again, THE WEBCOMIC WEBSITE IS = http://aoc-depthsofthepast.smackjeeves.com
