Hello,
My name is Davyn Abelone, I'm a young writer, aspiring for hopefully greater things in life other than just English and philosophy degrees. I hold two writing awards beneath my belt, both granted by my school, and I seek to further my career as a writer. I spend time writing prose, and it's healthy, however, I find myself to be more of a typist of word balloons, if you catch my drift. I have a passion for sequential art, and I want to send my passion into beginnings of potential career. An artist, I am not really much of, so you see, I am in need of help... I find beauty in the prospect of partnership, because I'm not a grandiose wizard of verbosity and philosophical connotation, and I am prone to pot holes and visual gaps that say... a partner could call me out on... I can visualize something, but an artist can bring it to life, and it seems to be more often than not when it's brought to life by the artists, it's better than my previously engendered “idea”.
All in all, what I'm saying is that I am a writer, and I love a healthy partnership with a creative friend. I have recently had two opportunities for short 8-10 page publications come to my attention, and I wish to participate in both. My ego, I feel will be the biggest drive towards helping me pursue these two publications, and I'm willing to pay for your time in order to make these happen. Both publications will be going on at the same time, so I am taking on a fairly big work load by doing this, but I'm desperate at this point; my passion is too deep for me to decide I can't do it, I'm the only one who can do something about it, and I'm doing it now.
Both comics are in standard, American comic format: 6.625" × 10.25", and I know that one has a limit of about 25, however I don't plan on going that far, and the other is still up in the air. I'm going to say about 10 as well. I may work with just one artist on this, I may work with two at the same time, but regardless, I am going to work on both.
The first one is a submission for an anthology called New World, and it's a Science Fiction publication. I have my idea wholly though of, and I'm ready to begin it, NOW. I do need to write it first, or rather, begin it, on account that I've recently discovered this project, and have little over a month to produce a submission. This is a black & white operation, greyscale welcome, (very welcome to greyscale), and I need to meet the deadline by the 31st of March. I am ready to set my keyboard on fire for this one. I don't know if my submission will be accepted, but keep in mind that if you're working with me, I'm paying you. That is testament to how serious I am about it. I'm in the process of emailing the operator for some unspecified details, so I will have a more concrete answer in terms of page count in the next couple of days.

The other is for a publication presented by a user on this very site. The script for this piece is already complete, minus some editing and an extension from 7 to 10 pages. This one can be started right now, but the final submission date is in September, so I'm a little less worried about this one. This is a fantasy piece, or rather, had some fantastic elements to it, but it's absolutely fiction. Again, the script for this is essentially complete, other than some touches to the grammar and structure. Keep in mind once more, that I am paying you. This project is a publication for a charity, so I am losing money with this one. Even if it bottoms out, you are still getting paid. This publication can be in color (if I can afford it).
I'd like for both of these projects to begin immediately. Preferably the New World project. I need to have something to show by mid-March, just some rough drafts, nothing too special, and before the 31st, have a completed 10 page comic. I'll humbly warn all of you that I'm not a millionaire against hunger, so I'd prefer to negotiate prices, flat rates and whatnot. I need an artist I can afford. I'm a student, and I work part time, on top of other bills, so I am OK with payment plans, gradual work, flat rates, etc. By no means am I saying that I'm not unwilling to pay a fair bill for the artists quality. I just need something that I can work with.
I can be reached at:
ethereal.fermata22@gmail.com
or a PM works too, I prefer email, however. I can send files and such better.
I even have a Skype account if you prefer a face-to-face partnership, I personally prefer this, but if you don't, that's fine, the option is available. We might be working together for about a month on each, so Skype makes sense to me, but again, if you don't do that, it's fine.
If you have further questions about these two projects, I'm more than happy to accommodate you. Either means of contacting me is fine. I hope for the best.
Best regards,
-Davyn Abelone

I have received such a massive flux of submissions, so I do apologize if I am a bit slow to get back to you all. My schedule since putting this up, has been, work, sleep, emails, and I am losing my mind. Haha! Thank you all for your time and energy, you're all amazingly talented individuals. It's difficult making a choice. Haha!
