Hello,
My name is Davyn Abelone, I'm a young writer, aspiring for hopefully greater things in life other than just English and philosophy degrees. I hold two writing awards beneath my belt, both granted by my school, and I seek to further my career as a writer. I spend time writing prose, and it's healthy, however, I find myself to be more of a typist of word balloons, if you catch my drift. I have a passion for sequential art, and I want to send my passion into beginnings of potential career. An artist, I am not really much of, so you see, I am in need of help... I find beauty in the prospect of partnership, because I'm not a grandiose wizard of verbosity and philosophical connotation, and I am prone to pot holes and visual gaps that say... a partner could call me out on... I can visualize something, but an artist can bring it to life, and it seems to be more often than not when it's brought to life by the artist, it's better than my previously engendered “idea”.
All in all, what I'm saying is that I am a writer, and I love a healthy partnership with a creative friend. I've had a publication present itself to me, and with it, an opportunity to put a small mark on the LBGT rights movement, and it's as simple as normalizing LBGT superheroes. I had a friend commit suicide ten years ago, because they chose to die instead of be who they are. It's this particular moment in my youth that motivate me to speak up on behalf of people. The publication is fairly strict in terms of what it's looking for, which brings me to my main qualification; I need a LBGT artist who wants to help me make a good mark. “While we hope allies support and enjoy the anthology, If you are not queer and are not on a team with a queer identified creator, please do not submit.”, states the prerequisites. I am very passionate about LBGT rights and I'm absolutely not afraid to say anything about it, and the only way I can say anything at all, is if I have a LBGT artist... I know, it's a little silly, but it means a lot to me.
I want to look at this whole opportunity very positively. The only way I can apply for this, is if I have a LBGT (or anyone under the QUILTBAG umbrella) identified artist to help me. It's an opportunity for a LBGT artist to participate in the movement, and I'm going to pay you for it. It means enough to me that I'm going to pay you for it. This is a shot in the dark, and I'm possibly at risk for sounding ridiculous, but it means a lot to me.
If you're a LBGT (or anyone under the QUILTBAG umbrella) identified artist, want to make some money and put a healthy stamp on the LBGT rights movement, send me a message! I'm looking to produce maybe 10 pages or so, and again, I'm paying you for your time. Pretty much right off the bat, we need to produce a pitch, which includes art samples and samples of our comic pitch. March 20th is the deadline for the pitches, so we gotta pretty much get started right away.
Here's further details from the site,

Here's a guideline for what we're doing.
Comic Guidelines
Oath is seeking pitches for black and white comics between 1-16 pages long that fit the theme of the anthology. Pitches should be sent to oathanthology@gmail.com and should include:
An introduction of yourself (or your team) and your interest in the project.
Cover letter containing the length of your sub, a title, and a synopsis (including a description of the beginning, middle, and end of your story.)
Samples of your work and (if you lack any previously published comic samples) a sample from your pitched comic ideally between 2-3 complete pages. Sample pages are only necessary for artists without previously published (self or professionally, online or print) sequential art.
A complete team (we will not be pairing artists, colorists, and writers.) Some assistance can be provided for comic artists who need help with lettering. Creators must be 18+ at the time of submission, and at least one central member of each team must be queer.
All comic pitches must be submitted by March 20, 2015.
!NOTE!
If you plan on giving advertisement advice, don't... if you have a possible correction you want to make to my ad, PM me, don't undermine me by writing all over my thread. You will be ignored. Thank you for your understanding.

Hey Davyn,
I'm an experienced artist whos worked on many concepts with writers, and you're right, it is much easier with a partner to call you out on some things. I'm currently working on my solo illustrations but think no working with a consistent writer could hold me back. Heres some samples of my work, http://anthonyarriola.crevado.com/
regardless, good luck and I'll see you out there
