New Comic Artist

Post by Hakeem »

Hello and thank you to all who are reading this. My name is Hakeem Stevens and I'm still new to creating a comic book tho I have some experience. I do my art traditionally and scan it on my laptop. I'm still really new to making a comic so I don't have much of a portfolio other than my deviant art which I rarly use as of late but here's a link http://hrs16.deviantart.com/gallery/?offset=0 . That being said I know myself to be reliable and want to find a start. My page rate is negotiable and I'm willing to try and produce some high quality work. I try to give updates on ever things as its created but will need the creator to be presice. You can contact me at hakeemstevens84@gmail.com if interest and thank you for reading once again.

advice

Post by Ruyei »

From what I've seen you're not ready for paid work yet, at least not in a place as competitive for paid work as this forum. My advice, offer yourself for free for a few shorts, establish your portfolio, and grow a bit as an artist. As you see said on a lot of publisher how-to's, if your stuff doesn't look like it would be in a comic book story than it isn't ready yet. What's the solution? Practice...practice.

Best of luck,
Sincerely,
Ruyei
