I am about to start work on a 100 page graphic novel. My regular colorist is going to be tied up on multiple projects. Do you have any availability in say a month or so? I'll likely have 7 -10 pages of art per month till the 100 pages are done. Are you open to doing a paid test page to see if I like your work?

I'll just mention it now (although I imagine it might be some time before this information can come in handy) but I can also help out with pretty much anything comic-related. Just something to bear in mind!

I do not recommend this colorist, full of lies.
He broke down the price and we agreed on price. Then he color one piece which I never received the file for. Send a refund later saying he should actually charge $250 per piece (even though he was the one who agree on the negotiated price to begin with). Refund with a message through paypal by the way without early notice. Mentioned that he should be charging double the price of $250 because piece is to big.
Very unprofessional overall, full of lies. Highly do not recommend.

We did two TEST images to see if our partnership would work out across 30+ images plus other work on the client's eventual website.
I decided to cut our losses early and take the loss for the team: I issued a FULL REFUND.
The client lost NOTHING as these were TESTS. I lost the time spent on almost complete images.

FYI, here are the red flags that clued me in on why it wouldn't work long-term:
- One of the client's files is now TWO GIGABYTES (for a $40 gig!). I told the client it would take 24h for the upload of the PSD alone and he didn't even blink!
- He indicated he would want a full high-res PNG any time I would ask for feedback.
- His reason, when prompted, was "in case of disputes": a poor lie, a red flag, an indication of things to come.
- Compounding on this, the client had multiple line-artists (so maybe things didn't work out long-term between him and previous collaborators?).
- The client, in passing, talked smack about one of his own line-artist's work.
- The client is now... Attempting to ruin my reputation because I refunded him?!
