Hello! If you’re reading this then I’m going to assume you’re interested in offering your support on a project I’ve been slowly but surely working for the past year and a half.I am attempting to gather like minded individuals(artist and writers)for the development of a comic book idea that I’ve been fleshing out.

The comic title I have for at the moment is called Kid and the Book of Heroes.

It’s a story set in a fictitious world dominated by anthropomorphic animals(it’s general demographic is more for youngsters around 10-16). It stars a young orphaned child named “Kid� who is the titular hero of the story.He seeks to rescue his kidnapped friends and family from bandits with the aid of broken order of ancient heroes chosen by the story’s deities to protect it.While his ultimate goal is to gather enough support from the heroes and people he encounters on his journey, he will later discover that he’s meant to do far greater things and step outside of his comfort zone to save the world.

This pretty much a summary of it, I can tell you more if your interested in working with me.

I would love to get my comic published but if necessary I’m willing to try self publishing should it come to that. I am looking for someone who’d be interested in co-writing with me if this sort of story interest you.

This is a recommendation from someone who is going through much of the same in terms of also creating a project, but...try saving your money if you're truly passionate about this and paying an artist and/or cowriter. I'd also recommend (coming from the experience as a writer myself) to simply develop your skills as a writer if that's your primary role, or as an artist if that's your primary role in order to save money on a team member. The "co-writer role" is served fine by a test audience, a.k.a. friends and coworkers who are willing to read it (very easy to find those ).

I'm sorry to say that the amount of work that goes into creating a comic of more than 8 pages (and even that is difficult) takes more motivation than "It'll be fun and maybe it'll make money." The creation of comic creation on a part-time basis for a single issue can take an entire year if we're optimistic, as the amount of art (each comic page is often 6 images put together as a standard) writing, cordination, and marketing thereafter (it is nigh impossible to get a publisher without prior credits or an "in" ) . This can be demoralizing for the team lead alone, and for those who aren't in charge...they are even more at risk for dropping out due to a lack of being in charge. In fact I can guarantee it. Trust me when I say I've done the same approach you are doing several times from several different angles, so I know that this plan of action is not going to work as is.

I'd recommend repurposing this as a 4-8 page short to gain recognition (which will still net you difficulties with drop-outs but at least it's feasible) . Or if you're truly passionate about it, to raise the money. I ended up doing the same with my project and it's well worth the hassle .

Honestly though perhaps my real advice to you is to do shorts first. Develop your skills as a storyteller first before diving headfirst into a big project, and be sure to start small and simple. While starting big can have it's advantages in terms of learning on the job VERY quickly, when that project likely does not meet your expectations it is depressing. There is a reason that most who make posts looking for collaborators are never heard again after their first post.

This is not an easy hobby to have my friend . I love it and respect it, but I like to make sure newcomers know what they're getting into.

I have to agree with Ruyei, because he statements to you are very true. No one will help you for free, because well, writing is time consuming and mentally draining. Now I love telling stories, and I love reading them also. So, I would like to help you do the very thing that I love. I would like to help you tell a great story. I won't do it for free, but I won't ask you to pay me upfront and I won't charge you a lot. I will work with you nd help you make this dream of yours a reality, but you'll have to trust me. If you still need an artist I will give you five pages. I need the exposure, so money is no issue. The page I've done already is very similar (anthropologic animal).

I write too, but the story will be better if you reach into YOUR HEART and write the story YOURSELF. Trust me. If the Kid is your main character, do a quick origin. At what point did he become what he is?
