GENERAL INFO:
D.E.P.A.P. plakton and millenium after the last years successful competition (95 subscriptions from Greece, United Kingdom, Canada and Cyprus) are organising the 2nd Comix Contest, which commences April 4th and lasts till May the 24th, 2007. In the contests, participants must over the age of 16.
There is a significant difference with the previous years' contests: This year the contest is divided in two big categories. the first one has an independent theme, while in the second one participants are called to be inspired by the theme 'machine'. At the end of the contest all the final pieces will be judged by a five-member comittee and prizes will be awarded to the winners of both categories. 4 pecuniary prizes, a special prize (_plakton prize), 4 merits and 6 distinctions.
Two exhibitions will follow, in Patra and in Athens, where the entire final awarded pieces as well as video projections with all the participants will be included. In the context of the exhibitions a catalogue will be published (wholly designed by _plakton) with all the awarded final pieces included, which are going to be placed unaltered, so the catalogue can be used as a comic book as well. The book will be distributed in specific bookstores all over Greece.
Lastly, during the exhibition in Patra, at the millenium mulriplex, workshops will be organised in specific dates that will be announced by the bearers.
