The basic conceit behind this comic is that good artwork has seemingly vanished from humorous comics of the modern age. In the newspapers, the best we can hope for are lovely Sunday comics from Richard Thompson or Mark Tatulli, it's not their fault, they have to crank out a comic a day. Even online, where creators set their own parameters, much of the best work is marked with very stylized art that would not, in its own right, be too appealing (see XKCD, Questionable Content, etc). I have previously written a one-panel comic, much like Gary Larson's Far Side, but would now like to make a shift. It was previously in print, and I want to move to online. I wish to publish a new comic once per week. And I want good art, stunning art, think the best the comic world has to offer. I mean, why shouldn't a one-panel humorous comic be drawn by Jim Lee or Alex Ross?
So if that sounds appealing, and you think you're up to the challenge of drawing a large, single panel comic once a week, hit me up and we'll talk. I am also looking for a webdesigner, although i'm considering other options for the comic as well, such as, at least as first, a livejournal or blog.
