Seeking Artists AND Writers.

Hi there,
I am currently seeking out several artists to work together on multiple projects.
I am both an artist and a writer, I am proficient at art, and enjoy writing strips, but I lack the time to commit to many projects, and I do have many.
My intention is to devise a webspace where multiple artists and writers can collaborate to create a consistently updating webcomics base, where artists/writers attempting to break into the web can submit strips and gain positions as permanent members of what I intend to be a family of artists and writers. Daily updates and articles from multiple writers and artists, a news feed, forums, a closenet group perfectly designed to help cover for sick or unavailable artists.
A common problem with webcomics is either that an artist cannot commit to a tight schedule, or that writers have difficulty linking their one-off strips into their over-arching story.
I intend to solve these problems, by creating a family on one site, even with just a few webcomics posting on the site we would always have new material for people to read, writers could easily collaborate, crossovers would be easy to streamline, essentially creating a brilliant new universe for webcomics.
I don't propose a site that simply collects comics together and rates them, I'm talking a fresh start for all involved, new comics developed simply for the site, an interface that makes it easy for writers to find artists and vice versa.
The concept is simple and I am shocked that I cannot find any attempts at creating such a thing, after all the same thing has been done for Reviewers at both TGWTG and Blistered Thumbs, why such a site couldn't translate perfectly into comic form is incomprehensible.
So I ask anyone of you, if you or anyone you know wants such a thing to happen, and you know of anyone with the talents to help me create this dream, then please contact me, or help me brainstorm the concept here, I am dedicated to seeing this concept created, and I have high aspirations for its future.

Hey I see your post was in September so who knows if you'll get this. My name is Aaron and I am the owner of a graphic design business Ink-R-Nation Logo & Design.(Coming soon to the web near you). And I am currently in the process of trying to do something similar to what you're doing if I understand you correctly. My goal was to create a comic company where all are welcome to post there comics for free as digital comics(I handle all the pdf files in house), but for those interested and for those whose stories best fit, I want to create a company of sorts brandishing our logo that would belong to our"family" of characters if you will so that we can pool our characters and stories together into a new universe for the sake of better advertising and creating more interest. Those who belong to our universe can write and do as they choose with their characters and have complete ownership of their creations, but by belonging to a universe there is room for artists and writers to collaborate on several different kinds of characters and to create interesting crossovers with those characters, as well as pool efforts together for advertising reasons (a character someone finds interesting that had advertisements in the printed comic for other characters and stories increases readership). I have learned in life there is strength in numbers and as long as ego's can be put aside there is real opportunity out there for lesser known artists and writers to create appealing things that might draw the attention of larger publishers. Hi, my name is Rob and the idea sounds interesting enough for me. The only detriment seems to be the idea another replier suggested, that being other artists and writer using my characters and world. I'm not comfortable with that, just a thought. I am currently the writer for
