Artist seeking writer for short story

EDIT: Currently not looking for a writer anymore. Thankyou for your interest.

Looking for a writer for a short (!!) one-shot comic of 12-16 pages – possibly for the upcoming MICC competition (http://morningmanga.com/micc/index.html deadline July 31st) – if not for the competition, then for a good piece of collaboration, something which I have wanted to try out doing for a long time. The finished piece can be presented as a webcomic/portfolio piece/small-print comic.

What I am looking for is to be involved as little as possible in the writing process – something that usually takes about half my time when working on the comic; I'm looking to draw a finished story with an established outcome.

My style is heavily "manga"-influenced. I have several short stories published in German-language anthologies, have experience with both traditional and digital techniques for blackwhite and color and am familiar with dealing with pressing deadlines.

I like down-to earth stories. I love historical themes the most (low fantasy with a touch of realism is fine too), can handle comedy (subtle or slapstick), adventure, action, comedy, mystery, drama, gambl ing, subtle romance, slice of life. I prefer telling stories through the actions and dialog of the characters, but a narrator guiding through here and there is ok too, especially when a character is solving a mystery/making some devilish plans ect.

I'm not particularly interested in high fantasy, high school settings, sci-fi/steampunk, 'gothic' themes, angst and melodrama (unless it's... comedy).

If interested in working together, feel free to contact me at turtles.itch at gmail dot com.

(edited the post a little to be a little clearer.)

Would be by any chance interested in a short story that had a "To be continued" type ending?

I guess so, but there should be one issue resolved in that story. Breaking off with a suspenseful cliffhanger ending, I'm not so much interested in.

Of course, a rounded one-shot is better, I realize the challenge in writing something as compact for that few number of pages (12-16 pages is just a guideline I am flexible with).

K. I've got a story I'm working on that would be about 30 pages.

It's about a priest who has to save a small town from vampires. Kind of an Alexander Anderson type character.

Should've elaborated more when I wrote I'm not too hot on gothic themes, that includes vampires – though there are exceptions (parody, general down-to-earth feel, special twist to them ect)

I have a number of stories written, and would be perfectly fine with writing one tailored to suit you. Is this still available?

This sounds like fun. I have a story that is an action type and would be perfect for manga in my opinion. If you would like to read some of it email me at r9107@msn.com

Thanks for the many responses expressing interest in a collaboration. I'm still waiting on a response but until I say otherwise I'm always open to looking at rough plot outlines or scripts in screenplay/any comic drafting format (since I'm looking for short stories right now contrary to a more long-term commitment).

Lets get it going
