Writer Seeking Artist for Indie Comics on Kindle, etc.

Hi everyone,

I'm a writer with a few short stories and a novel under my belt. Instead of doing traditional book publishing, I directly publish my work on Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Noble Nook, iBookstore, Smashwords, etc. For example, I list and sell a short story for 99 cents, a novel for $2.99, etc.

I'm interested in doing the same sort of setup with an artist for comics. For example, we'd produce an 18-24 page comic issue (or some other pre-determined length) and publish as an ebook on Kindle, iPad, etc. for $2.99 or whatever price we agree is reasonable to charge. After a few issues (5 issues for example) we would bundle them into a pack and sell for a higher price, and so on an so forth.

I've found this process is a lot of fun as a writer and is a great way to practice your craft. Keep in mind I'm not offering any paid advance or money up front. We'd split the royalty earnings from all eComics 50/50 (most e-publishers like Amazon give the author 70% royalties if your work is priced at $2.99 or higher). I'm open to any type of comic genre as long as it's not too gratuitous or over the top. I also have a day job so I'm not expecting anyone to have to commit loads of time, but it would be great practice for both of us.

If you're interested, either post a reply to this thread or send me a private message on this forum and we can chat more.

Thanks!

Solman

can you use a rough-draft penciller, in the meantime, that you don't secure the services of a finish artist?
