New Aspiring Writer seeking to collaborate

First thing I was told about writing for a graphic novel is "A writer doesn't hire an artist, and an artist does not hire a writer. They have to be partners before they are colleagues."

That is my mindset in all of the arts. As a recording artist, my producers and my engineers are as much of my project as I am.
So now, as I return to the world of story telling after taking the last five years off, I keep this mindset. Except now, I need an artist.

What shall I write about? I don't know yet. I am in the brainstorming process, so no immediate replies are needed, however ideas are welcome.

Give me as many ideas of the type of story you want to read.

Are you at all interested in writing a short-story comic? I'd like to experiment with collaboration but am not ready to commit to something huge yet.

Well, I kind of wanted to write about something supernatural, but that ties in the next level of human evolution being expanding the mind's abilities.
I am still working on a draft, and trying to apply it to comic book writing as this would be my first comic.

Main character.

Young man, mid 20’s.
Average.
Lives in small city, population under 300,000
However city is large tourist attraction, so very busy on weekends.
He is mixed in with organized crime, however not a slave to it.
He is not a criminal aside from the fact he uses recreational illicit substances.
He suddenly begins hallucinating while using hard drugs,
It is not the drugs making him hallucinate.
He contains hidden genetics that are allowing him to possess the power to see aura’s, energy, and interoperate the moods and thoughts of others based on the colors of energy they emit.
At first he would likely consult a shrink and be freaking out before he understands he can use this power and focus this ability to “see” sounds, and “see” time, etc. These things would be worked out as I continue to develop the characters and the story.
However this is just a quick tidbit. I am always very busy with a day job and other activities, however will do my best to get this done quickly
