Thanks very much to everyone who applied. I've found an artist and we're close to producing the first raft of pages.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I’m currently looking for an artist to do paid work for a webcomic. I’d like to put out one page per week, in a comic book rather than comic strip format. I’m willing to pay upwards of 50$ per page, and I’m willing to negotiate price. I’m hoping to get an all-in-one to minimize the delay from scripted to inked and lettered. I expect to do it in batches, four or so pages at once each month, and then release them weekly.

The story is called “Ork Wars.” It’s a combination of absurd humor, satire, and mild social commentary. It draws heavily from conventional high fantasy, while gently mocking it. I’m hoping to find an artist who can bring a style that is both distinct and distinctive, with the ability to blend characters that are a mix of cartoonish and realistic into the same frame. I’m keeping my eyes open for something that’s a little angular, stylized, and somewhat colorful, but with an ounce of grit in it. For some reason, the concept art for Dragon Age 2 has always leapt out at me as being close to the thing I’m looking for.

The story follows a ragtag posse of Orks who gather around the recently deposed second-in-command of an infamous Ork war band, the O.P.K. The ousted underboss, Basher Buckley, was kicked out for not wearing any pants, and his quest, with the help of his new associates, is to find a pair of pants that’ll actually stay up. They must journey across a valley filled with fantastical wild creatures intent on consuming them, in the midst of a brewing tribal war for dominance of the whole region.
