I am a student of fine arts and literature and I am in need of experiance. If you, the artist, have any story that you would like developed so you can make a comic out of it, I am willing to help you for free.

Advice

You might want to give examples of what sort of ideas you can come up with as well as post links to a script you wrote or something. These days I usually post links to works I've already worked on (I'm a comic veteran) but if I had to start fresh I'd definitely give an example of a script or an idea. There are a lot of scripters out there who aren't detailed enough with their story ideas or give no reason whatsoever for an artist to want to work with them for free, so I recommend you set yourself apart. You also might want to try another site, this place mostly attracts artists who want to be paid. Smackjeeves's forum worked wonders for me when I wanted artists, and free artists at that. But when it comes to looking for good forums, let google be your guide, type artist looking for writer or vice-versa. Not that you almost CAN'T find free artists here, though I think I did find one here once upon a time. But either way it never hurts to post on multiple sites.

Good luck with script writing though, it certainly was a journey for me. I started out as a prose writer and thought script writing would be an easy transition, it isn't. It's an entirely different art with it's own pacing and standards of beauty. Reading comics will help, either published or on the web (Though I find published comic artists and scripters are typically more refined). The only thing scripting and prose writing have in common is that they are both story-telling methods, and even that is a tenuous relationship. If you need any help that I didn't include in this post e-mail me at robert-finch@comcast.net.

By the way, you have at least one thing down, when starting out offering to do anything works. It's also a great learning experience to develop someone else's idea, I've done it a few times. Once did a superhero comic during a period when I hated superheroes, was good practice.

Good luck to you newcomer,
Sincerely,
Ruyei
