We are starting a new comic book company...YOU can be a part
We are in the building stages of a new comic book publishing company. It will TRULY be unlike any other company in the field.
With the right team of motivated, talented creators, I know for a FACT that we can turn this company into a major player. More importantly, we can make the world a better place in doing so, as well as build legacies as comic creators that will be worth remembering.
As a basic template, the company will have 5-10 major titles that will be chosen by the staff. These titles will serve as the backbone for the company and will be available in print format as well as web comic format.
However, ANYONE who wishes to create a book for us is welcomed and encouraged to do so. It will be eligible for review just like any other book and, if approved by the staff, will be put into print. Even if your book is not chosen for print, though, it will still be turned into a web comic in our store and your hard work will NEVER be for naught.
I have wanted to do this since I was in high school. Bill Clinton hadn't even started his run as president yet.....I figure it's about time to check this off the Bucket List and make it happen.
If done right, this can honestly change the world.
I can't do it alone.

I am paying my own creative team for their work, yes. No one works for free unless they choose to do so, but that is between the members of each creative team.
I am also paying for something "big" that will immediately put the company in the public eye.
Then I am also paying for the website, organizational paperwork, marketing, etc.....and then my personal food, rent, etc. etc. I mention this because I'm just a single dad working a day job; I'm NOT rich by any sense of the word.
That is why I need help.
"Help" can mean many things; after just starting this process a couple weeks ago, I've already got another creative team in place and a handful more who are organizing as I write this. They are offering "help" of the "tangible product" variety; i.e. they are creating comic books that our customers can purchase.
But I can also use help in developing the company itself. And if that isn't possible, the simple act of helping to spread the word via Facebook and Twitter would be truly helpful and appreciated.
I WILL say this, though:
Our company is built with the sole purpose of donating all profits to charity.
If anyone has questions and, hopefully, interest in building something great, please feel free to shoot me a PM here. I will explain all of the nuances and finer points of Charitable Press so that you can make an educated decision.

Hey, thanks for the reply! Good work, too. At some point in the near future, the website will be up and running; at that point, I am going to have a small forum that will put artists like you in touch with writers and you all can collaborate on projects.
Obviously it's a slow process when trying to start a brand new company; it's even slower when I'm a one-man show.
My point is that, just like Theraccoonramirez, anyone and everyone is encouraged and invited to post their interest. It's the first place we'll look when we're putting together new teams.
Right now, the best teams IMMEDIATE consideration are artist/writer combinations, so that you can create immediate product. What will happen is a cumulative snowball effect, where everyone who creates a book will benefit from the other books in the product line.
If you're a solo artist, writer, letterer, inker, etc., please continue to post your interest and I will try to match you up with someone as quickly as possible.
I'll shoot you a PM once we're moving forward to the next step, Ramirez. Thanks again.

The best way I can describe it is this: Once the website is up, there will be a small forum that lists the talent that is currently available.
Within that forum will be a chat function running at all times where forum members can talk to other members and find the ones who fit best with their style. From this, Creative Teams will form.
At that point, these Teams will create something together, which we will then fully edit for grammatical errors and return for any needed corrections. In addition, we will review and critique the book for each team, however THIS part is not a requirement to follow; you can take our advice or leave it. We will NOT release a book with typos, but we WILL give you artistic freedom at all times.
At that point, your project will be posted on our website as a teaser, with a few pages available for people to read. People can see how much funding needs to be raised for the full book to be released (this amount is completely up to you as the Creative Team), and can then choose to donate to your project and, in addition, your charity of choice.
I hope that description makes sense.

It depends on when I can get the website done, really. I've got my guy who normally does my websites, but he's super busy with his real job at the moment and I don't know when he'll get to it.
I've also got a few pages left to draw on my book, then get it inked and lettered.
My target goal for having the site in operation is mid-July. The company itself will be in full operation by late September.

Oh, and I would greatly appreciate it if everyone here would "Like" us on Facebook:
http://www.facebook.com/CharitablePress
There's not much going on there right now, due to the many things that I'm working on to get the company up and running. But there WILL come a day when we have contests, prizes, classified ads for jobs, and many other things on our Facebook page, so it's to your benefit to Like us and keep in touch.

Just a quick update:
Charitable Press now has a good start with FOUR unique comic storylines being created. One of which is already very far along, numbering over 100 completed pages!
I'm very grateful to those of you who have stepped up to help make our company a success. Thank you very much!
Look for a Kickstarter soon; I'd like to get our books into the hands of readers as soon as possible. Also, if anyone is willing to do a website for back-end payment, let me know. Our current web guy will do it, but he is slow.

Hello,
I am a writer who finished a massive comic book back in April. This isn't a comic that could go on indefinitely...well, at least not MY story. What I have written is a wide, epic story arc that comes to a definite (and, hopefully, satisfying) close. It'd be the biggest thrill to me if other authors and artists wanted to write stories within the same universe, once my tale got out there. Right now it is a comic with no artist. To be honest it is yet another in a long string of stories set in a zombie apocalypse world, but hopefully I have managed to put a twist on things so it stands out. The hunt for an artist still continues. If you would be interested, I could send along Part 1 of the story (it is split into 5 parts, which are then divided into smaller chapters) as well as the outline for the rest of the comic. Let me know what you think.
Steve

Hi,
My current day job is a professional PR agent who represents property management companies, luxury luggage companies and New York Times best selling authors. Your ambitious idea is intriguing and I would like to offer my services in the form of marketing, PR and writing.
What brings me to this forum? Though my public relations career is essentially what I've studied for, I am an aspiring writer who has had, unfortunately, a difficult time in finding an artist to help launch my work. If you're interested, please email me: mariodiaz114@gmail.com
Many thanks

As a young, inexperienced yet visionary writer, I am willing to offer my assistance with this project. This is an opportunity or chance that I have been looking forward to. I may still have plans to send my scripts to some other comic book companies, but I think I can help this newly-in process company begin a fresh start. I too, wish to become a part of this tree of collective writers and, work alongside talented artists, inkers, and colorists.
David,
