New comer looking for advice.

Greetings! I am an amateur comic book writer (and when I say amateur, I mean, I haven't went to school, nor have I been published.) and I'm currently working on my first creator owned comic book.

I currently don't have an artist and before I post on different forums, I want to ask a couple of questions to get a feel for the community and it's members.

-Do people complete the work on time?
-Are people here more interested in making money than a comic book?
-What are the expected pay rates for a project (per page, per project, etc.)?
-Are people willing to work for free before a publishing deal is made, then get paid with the profits of the sales?

If there is anything else you think I should know, please tell me!

Thank you! :D

When u say didn't go to school, you mean you haven't attended school at all or you haven't done any writing classes?
I think everyone wants their book published, and if there is money in it why not.
Rates depend on artist quality
Surely there are artists who will work for free until the book is successful sold.
But beware if a paying job comes along, artist will put your work aside and concentrate on paying gig, I did this. And writer was fine with that, we all have to pay bills. Also if you are really sure about your book, sometimes offering $10 a page will book you a very decent artist,

I haven't attended writing classes, nor did I go to college for writing.

And what I meant by 'Are more people interested in making money than comic books?' Are the artists here more for the money or for the creative process?

I have a full time job so comics for me are a hobby, but for someone who draws comics full time, well they are in it for the money (wish i could draw for living).
