Need artist for new series Debitum. Must apply for position.

Post by austinjames »

After writing a couple books, I have found that comic books are easier to sell, cheaper to make, and generally more appealing to the public. I am looking for someone who loves to draw for its own sake, as I love to write for its, who can do the art on a comic book I am making. While my script has the general delineation of art, I am, unlike others, willing to leave the artist to interpret the writing with his/her own artistic view.

About the series:

The title of the series is Debitum (a play on the Latin word debita for doomed) . It takes place in the dwarf galaxy of Sagittarius Elliptical around 2250 A.D. The galaxy itself as formed a Federation, which the leader believes to be a flawless utopia. The federation is constructed of 12 planets in the galaxy. Each planet has a Chancellor, who is more of a figurehead, and a militia which is run by 'res officer.' Everything is peaceful until a small military alliance, run by an ex-res officer, takes control of one of the extraordinary militias of Debitum, declaring it a federal power.

The galaxy is in, as I describe in the series, the 4th stage of intelligence. Meaning simply, the constant at the macro level is the speed of light, and the constant at the micro level is FTL travel. Meaning, the constant time in which particles move forward when vibrating faster than the speed of light.

If you are interested please email me answering these questions:
1. Please give a brief bio, where you are from and how you started in this field?
2. How will you describe your art/writing style? For art: Gothic? Realism? Abstract? Anime? Sci Fi?
3. Why would you like to draw/write for an upcoming Comic Series?
- In addition, attach 3 samples of art work:
