Looking for artist

I'm looking for an artist. I'm 23 and live in CA. So I'm pst. Also, I use skype, so try to use skype if you can. The genres that I'm doing is EVERYTHING! That's right, you heard it, it's everything. I want to do multiple story lines, so bear with me. But I do have a "main" storyline. It'll be our first project we work on. Problem is that I don't like using the word "main" because it's not really the "main", it's just that I like all my story lines equal. So yeah.

I need a loyal artist. I cannot draw so I need someone to be willing to draw everything and anything I need. I need an artist that's submissive and passive because my last artist all we did was argue every time and can't get anything done. I got the illustration concept, the outline, and a little part of the script done. I need 100% control of the storyline, character development, settings, etc... I just need 100% control in those because I don't want my storyline to get ruined. So message me if you're interested. Try to be alone if you can. My last artist has these siblings that won't shut up and just kept arguing with me on the silliest thing and can't get the work done.

Oh yeah, the style. I would like it if you can draw like Air Gear, Please Teacher, Shaman King, DearS, etc... But we'll most likely be drawing Air Gear.

Issues

Are you paying? As someone who's been working on and on with artists for over five years, mostly through a partnership rather than through pay, I know that artists will want something that they will want to work on. Insisting on no creative input and strict guidelines will scare even paying artists away, and asking for the artist to be alone? That can be a bit unreasonable in my mind since artists often have lives, and thus roommates and family. But forgetting that, a relationship where you dictate everything from art to story can be demanding on an artist, thus a need to pay them. My advice is to offer page rates, in which case you will be in a position to dictate rules and expectations to the artist. No offense, you come across as a little demanding, but that is fine if you establish professional relationship with your artist, and my impression is that there are many artist on this site that are professional and will help you with your project for the right price.

Also, it may help to give everyone a sense of what your story is about. Multiple plot lines? Sounds cool but it's not enough to give us a sense of your style, and EVERY GENRE is never accurate since there is a way to define any sort of story. I think the term you are looking for is "Cross-genre" and even then you have to list what aspects of each genre that you are crossing. It also helps if you link to a script, or simply offer to send the script to all who pm you.

My final piece of advice, this may not be the best place to look for a Manga artist. Try multiple sites and let google be your guide, and also consider that in the U.S. Manga is simply not mainstream to any degree. There are plenty of imports BUT around 90 percent of them if not more are not originating in the English language. Thus a lot of professional artists do not work in Manga format, though there are many with manga influences. Also, if you are looking to put together a project pitch to a publisher you may get less interest with Manga since most publishers are not looking for it. I STRONGLY recommend working with an American style for this reason. Even in popular webcomics Manga is seldom used, though there are plenty of American/Manga mixes out there. Look for American/Manga mixes as a compromise.

Note that artists at this point are IN DEMAND to the point that many of the more professional ones will work only for money, and those that don't will generally want to work on something they want to do rather than obediently following an unproven writer. If you are going to go for a non-paying artist, note again that they are in short supply and also that many of them are unprofessional and not pro quality with their work, either in quality of art or in drawing speed. You will also more than likely have to pitch your work to an artist and purposely write what they want to draw.

I hope this advice finds you well and that you are able to utilize it. It requires a lot of patience and a lot of luck when working with non-paying artists and I would highly recommend, having a specific vision, that you pay a standard page rate or work with an artist to find a project both you and the artist will enjoy.

Sincerely,
Robert Finch

No, I'm not paying. I'm looking for a partner but there's a reason why I'm demanding and if the artist know about my storyline, he/she will know why. About the genre, it's mostly action/adventure and more action, but that's just what I'm good in but would like to extend it, I have one romance idea but that even have lots of action, but yes, I would also like to work with children storyline too like Disney. But thanks for the tip, but I won't be doing those.

Best of luck

Thanks. If I cannot find a new artist, I'll ask my old artist if she wants back in, but I like her, just can't stand her siblings. So I got things cover.

My artist seems like she wants back in, so this thread is close. Sorry. I don't know how to close it. But yeahhh... If something happened again, I'll contact you and see if you still want in later.
