Dear Artists,
Please get in touch if you'd consider working together on a science fiction comic with the working title of 'Alienhunter.'

I'm thinking it would make a good short 5 or 6 issue series.

I'm pasting the script for the first issue below.

This is my first foray into comics but I'm fortunate to have been widely published in other media. More info here: www.robindunn.com

Thanks for reading.

Update 1-25-15

I'm fortunate to have one artist on board so far, Teresa Young. Her page is http://dalifan-teresa.deviantart.com/

We'd love to have more help!

Alienhunter

SETTING:
A metal room, windowless.

- -

MAN:
I don't know what to tell you.

The voice speaks from off camera.
[you were in country for five years?]

MAN:
About that, yeah.

[how long did you know the aliens were running things?]

MAN:
I don’t know. Forever.

[who employed you as a spy?]

MAN:
A lot of people.

[Like who, for instance]

MAN:
You did, as I recall.

The speaker transmitting the voice sputters for a moment. Our hero shifts in his chair, waiting.

[If I have this right, you were with the Fourth Mechanized Battalion? In January 2114?]

MAN:
That sounds right, yeah.

[And what did you do for that assignment?]

MAN:
I was command and control, but I started as infiltration. We’d find an alien nest, and we’d . . .

Over the following monologue we have some flashback images. The alien nest is a corporate office. All aliens on Earth resemble human beings.

MAN:
. . . we’d set up shop out of range of their guns and scanners and I’d apply for work. I started that January in the mail room, delivering mail.

[what were the aliens doing?]

MAN:
They were in intelligence too. Sending data back to Alpha Centauri.

[They were Centaurians?]

MAN:
I think so, yeah.

[How do you know?]

MAN:
That’s what they told me.

[How do you know they weren’t lying?]

MAN:
Well, I don’t think they were. Didn’t matter, though. We burned them out of there.

We see a huge psychic transmitter being deployed outside the office park. It explodes the heads of the aliens inside the building. Our hero runs from it, blood running from his years.

[And that was when your troubles began? After you burned that nest?]

MAN:
Umm, yeah.

[Tell us about that.]

MAN:
Hey, do you think I could get something to drink?

[In a minute. Tell us how you learned you had been compromised.]

MAN:
Just a drink or something. Anything.

[*more distantly* Do we have any water?* I’m sorry, we’re still filtering it. Please go on.]

MAN:
I don’t know. I started hearing voices. But, I’d always heard voices. So, at first I thought, what’s the difference, you know?

[Right]

MAN:
But then, the voices started describing things they were going to do, and then those things would start to happen.

[Like what, for instance]

MAN:
Like, they told me I was going to get interrogated. Hey, I’m sorry about that.

[What are you sorry for?]

MAN:
For what’s going to happen.

[Go on.]

MAN:
Well, they told me . . . this was after I’d left Fourth Mechanized, on a medical leave. I was in the clinic. Just listening to the voices, you know.

[Right]

MAN:
And they told me, you’re going to be captured. And you’re going to be our avatar.

[They called you an avatar?]

MAN:
That’s what I am, yeah.

[Shit. *have we scanned this guy already?* Go on, please]

MAN:
It’s simple, they said. They said, you’re going to shoot one of the nurses, so I did.

We see some of this flashback.

MAN:
I took the gun from the guard, and I did it. And I started shouting about aliens. And that’s when I was brought here.

[What did the aliens tell you was going to happen here?]

MAN:
They told me I was going to harvest. Going to harvest you guys. Hey, I’m sorry about that. I’ve seen it happen before.

[You mean you are a weapon sent to destroy us?]

MAN:
Yeah.

[What is the nature of you as weapon?]

MAN:
I’m a psychic control ray. But if you turn me up high enough, high up enough into the stratosphere of brain waves and psychic radiation, then, well, I can make your heads explode. He he heh

[What if we told you we’d already deactivated you?]

MAN:
It wouldn’t matter. I’d just be turned back on.

Our hero stands up and raises his hand to the one way glass.

[errghhehghg]

We see the interrogator briefly, dying, twitching. Our hero raises his hand to his ear.

MAN:
I’m inside.

Above, we see the UFOs hovering, over the building. It shoots its tractor beam down into the building, lifting our hero into the UFO. Inside the UFO, it’s more human beings. The captain pats our hero on the shoulder.

Captain:
How was it Jake?

Jake:
They’re tracking us.

Captain:
We’ll be at Alpha Centauri in an hour.

Jake:
How’s Samantha?

Captain:
She was injured.

Jake:
What happened?

Captain:
They got her. But she’ll be okay. Doctor Kopan is working hard.

Jake:
F***. I need a drink or something. You have anything?

Captain:
Can’t drink on board, Jake. F***s up our brainwaves. He he. Get some sleep.

We see Jake lying in his bunk on the UFO. Colors and planets and galaxies swarm outside the ship.

Jake:
I see my family . . . dying. In the big blaze of New York. And then I see myself, flying . . . flying into eternity . . . I am a vessel of God. I am . . . Jake. Tell me, when do I wake up? I remember Minnesota. And I remember Samantha, in that lake. Before I joined up. Before I started reading those forbidden books. Forbidden books in a forbidden system, of love between the stars . . .

God, tell me, am I really insane?

God. Who are you?
