People will ask for prices less than $5/page? I'd feel like I was ripping you off at just $5!
I'm interested, needless to say. I fancy the same genres you do as well. My only trouble is I'm not particularly solid with one idea, so could I perhaps bounce comic ideas to you and see what you like?

hi there ... I don't know if you've found a company to work with yet, but if not, please write back. I am an upper editor for a company looking for artists (yes, it's paid work) and would like to talk to you about joining a creative team with us.

As luck would have it, too many people want in on the $5 pages. Naturally. I can not work for a 1.50 an hour. so please reconsider your proposals and Do not ask me to complete a project in its entirety upfront with zero deposit. I work every day of the week, I love this work but it is a herculean task.

Im not surprised to hear that. Hardly anyone here has money to offer. Generally when the term "page rates" is brought up here, it means the person doesnt have enough $$$ to pay for the project. You should ask what their budget is and go from there if they ask for "rates" i wouldnt bother replying.

Im an artist, but i completely understand the writers, even at $10 a page, at 25 pages thats $250, im sure most can afford that, but that doesnt guarantee you will get the book published, so thats $250 down the drain, and a $10 artist chances of art being good enough for publishers are very small.
Now as an artist getting $10 to sit there for hours is simply not worth it. I work 6 days a week, 9 hours a day. Being physical work, i come home tired. I have 2 smaller children that expect their father to play with them. All that doesnt leave me much time to draw. A page can take half a week. All that for $10 not worth it.
