An artist is needed for a comic book project that two writers from Edinburgh, Scotland are working on. We’re looking to build a portfolio of comics that we can submit to publishing houses and this is our second comic. The style that we’re looking for is in the vein of Charlie Adlard, Bryan Hitch, Carlos D’Anda, Steve McNiven etc. The story is based almost entirely within a skyscraper in a modern city. It’s dramatic and darkly humorous with flashes of good ol’ comic book violence peppered throughout.
We need an artist(s) with the ability to provide pencils, inks and colours or the equivalent with computer art software. Ideally we’d like to work with someone in or relatively close to the central belt of Scotland. We are offering payment for the work however we are not millionaires. The project is roughly 3 issues long.
If you’re interested, please have a quick read of the synopsis below and then give us a shout either on here or at thedesertwhales@gmail.com.
Thanks for your time and we look forward to hearing from you!
Richard and Greg
‘LEVELS’
A former employee of a large insurance corporation wreaks havoc in the skyscraper he was fired from by releasing a super virus in the building’s computer systems. This isn’t just any virus though – it takes over monitors and sound systems, emitting a blast of hallucinating images and sounds, turning the workers into psychotic maniacs! Now it’s down to one man to try to save the innocent people in the building – Frankie Barrett, the building’s resident window cleaner.
‘Levels’ is inspired by the writers’ love of video games, comics and ‘what would happen if’ scenarios.
