Good afternoon,
I’m Mr. Joiner founder of Forever Independent and Staying True Entertainment (FIST Ent). I was told that there was no such thing as a African American comic book artist. Well I'm here to prove them wrong are you?
We’re looking for artists with skill-sets in the following areas: 3D animation, comic book artists, film animation, etc.
I can be reached via email or directly at 224-388-1210
Best Regards,
Mr. Joiner
FIST ENT.

Um....Really? I can name a half dozen professional black comic book artists off the top of my head. I am betting a google search would hit another 50. I'm in negotiations with one now, and that one's female.

Funny thing is, if i asked for a white artist or writer, i would be automatically labeled as a racist.

I see a lot of requests for female writers and artists. I can see why they are requested since women often have distinctive writing and art styles that one doesn't see from men. On the other hand though there are plenty of men who can draw or write like women, which makes the whole point of searching for a demographic kind-of pointless.
However, African Americans, women, and people from different nationality often have new perspectives. I wouldn't specifically look for a minority, but I have fond memories of working with a certain South African artist even though the project never materialized. It is definitely a blessing to work with someone who is not well represented in American comics.

You know, I have not gone looking for diversity for NO-Earth. I went looking for good storytellers, writers and artists both. In doing that, I got diversity. Win-win.

He's not looking for artists for a book he's working on. He wants to interview one for a documentary he's doing.
