Funniest Superhero comic ever (yea, I said it) needs artist

Post by twotontongue »

Hey everyone. I am looking for an artist who has a wicked sense of humor and yet still knows how to hold onto the heart of a character.

The story is called "The Fabulous F&*#in' Adventures of Pie-U and Ninjackoff!"

It's about two ordinary slacker guys in their mid 20's who suddenly gain "stupid powers" and then use them to become heroes and revolutionary radicals. One guy has the power to create pies out of thin air, and the other guy can teleport but only when he is aroused (there are other exceptions to his power, but that's the bread and butter of how he can use them).

I think of it as a mix of South Park meets Invincible meets Fart Party or something like that. Haha I dunno, it's very unique and original.

Yes, you will be drawing some penises...but only when it's funny, mainly you will only see the "bulge" for most of it...but it's not like your going to be constantly drawing dicks all day ya know. (Unless you do that on your own in your spare time, then you of course still will be).

Basically the story starts out further down the line where the characters are already a major force to be reckoned with, and then after a couple issues of setting up a big story arc that will be brought back around later, its going to go back into the history of how they came to get their powers and learning to use them and WHY they are doing what they are doing in the early issues..., along with tons of great one-off issues and bigger story arcs that happened in the past. It's going to be great, I have so many killer ideas that people will love.

Sadly currently I cant offer much for payment, (maybe 100-300 dollars or something) but otherwise I would be willing to split all future profits 50/50 with the artist. I know this thing will find it's market.

It's going to have some really fun superhero action scenes, jokes, and still deal with issues and emotions (although the deeper side of things wont come out in the first two or three issues).

Anyway, you can view a FIRST DRAFT copy at http://www.flickr.com/photos/fabadventu ... 340485353/

Pages 2-4 are very very rough as I rushed through them intending to fixt them up later (but it never happened), BUT the artwork improves as you go on so it's way easier to read, so don't judge it too harsh by the first few pages. Anyway, there is still room for your creative input on this and plenty of times where you can help out with the paneling and layout and stuff too. But if you don't want to deal with any of that, I will set it all up myself and you can just take my crappy art and take the picture that I was only able to elude to, and make it the picture that it's supposed to be.

Style wise, I would love to see someone who could draw like Invincible's style, but I am a big fan of manga and anime so if you have those influences too that could be cool. Basically I am open minded, this is going to be a very adventurous comic to be working on so don't be shy.

I am currently already in the middle of drawing the second issue, and it's coming together fabulously. If you are looking for a long term project this might be it! Although obviously we will take things one issue at a time.

Anyway, this story takes place in a world that is very much like our own, except in this world the reader will come to find out is very crazy and corrupt in ways most people would never imagine. Conspiracy fans will definitely dig some of the storylines.

This comic will also go into political, social, and philosophical issues...because then when the penis jokes come (haha), it makes it even funnier.

Also only awesome people may reply. So if you don't think your an awesome person than this story isn't for you. Also, I don't have time to work with people who are unsure of themselves.

I want this comic to take off and become profitable so we can continue to keep making more. So hopefully you are as motivated as I am.

Sorry for how long this is! Have a great one everyone!

I am STILL IN NEED OF AN ARTIST! So don't be a fool and pass this opportunity up. Trust me, I know how awesome this story is going to be in the end and I have no intentions whatsoever to stop with this story until it's finished which will be AT LEAST 15-20 issues long and by the time I get to that point any comic lover will recognize how awesome of characters these guys are and how epic this story is I got a big vision for this, and this comic will find it's audience and rightful place in comic book history when all is said and done. Don't believe me? That's fine, I know most people online are pretty much full of crap with no follow through, but that ain't the case with me. I know that is all very boastful and arrogant sounding, but just wait and you'll see what I mean.

I am doing this for the love of the story, characters, and love of comics...but I do have full intention of making this into a profitable venture, so if you're only concerned about money then that's fine by me too because I'm concerned about that too. View it as an investment, in the end it will be a very wise career move...but right now you have to take the risk and jump in with both feet.

I am not just some comic nerd fanboy with his head in the clouds here. My creative roots are in film and film theory, which I went to school at a major university for. Only in the past 3 years have I realized the amazingness of comics and have dived into the medium with gusto. Basically I realized the comic form to be the perfect way to tell this story which I have always wanted to tell but viewed as too expensive to be made into films without major studio backing (which they would never do anyway, because Hollywood's politics on which films get made and which don't are totally messed up and backwards...but that's another story in itself). I'm also a scholar in philosophy, which is at the root of this story.

So yes, this whole story probably sounds very immature and childish and silly, which it DEFINITELY IS, but that's only because of the need to juxtapose the serious elements which are the real heart of the story, with the silly ones to give form to them all. When this story is all said and done in the end, I fully believe this comic will be viewed as a very important part of comic book history...but right now I need an artist who has the foresight to see beyond my crappy art skills and who wants to help take this comic to the level it is destined to reach.

Are you up for the challenge?

Anyway, thanks for reading and sorry for the ranting (if you can't dig what I'm saying, feel free to dismiss me as crazy/stupid)...I just really want to get this going to the next level because I am already well into the 2nd issue (which is already 10x better than the first issue) and I have no plans on stopping. I just need my creative partner to work with! If things go well with the first issue, I am very open to the idea of an ongoing working relationship. But one step at a time for now. :-)

Have a good one everyone and best of luck to all of you in all your endeavors!!

Thanks for the reply. You have a very good style and are quite talented, but I'm not quite sure you are the right fit for this project. Also I'm still hoping to find someone who wants to work for pay on the back end...or at least very minimal pay up front (like 100-200 bucks-ish) and then profit sharing or something like that.
