If you do write or draw a strip or some strips before that date, I really think you shouldn't post them. Save them until January, then start posting them at a schedule you feel you can keep. It'll be just like it was at the beginning of the strip, where you were ahead.
I hope you do go back to being regular, but if you decide that you've said what you wanted to say and drawn what you wanted to draw, and either go on to another strip or none at all, I'm sure people would be supportive. It is your comic, after all, not ours.
Either way, I'll be able to make the caption on my website nicer.
