Looking for artist (split profits)

Post by Venturecapital »

Looking for comic book artist. Dont have money to pay you but will split what ever money the comic makes (IF it makes a profit) 50-50. So you'd make half of whatever money it makes. Plan on trying to distribute it through the iTunes bookstore. Email me if you're interested and ill give you the comic synopsis. If you don't like the idea and decide you dont want to draw it then thats fine and I welcome helpful criticism.

It's hard but not impossible

I'd say finding a free artist is possible, just not all that likely on this forum. Went to smackjeeves's forum and found several artists willing to work for free and who had decent quality. But then again, I'm a veteran comic scripter who gave examples of his work as well as detailed descriptions concerning the three properties he was considering developing. If you just say that you want to work no-one will be interested, yet if you say what you want to work ON...that's a different story. I know some artists feel that others would steal their ideas, but I feel that's a ludicrous suggestion. It's not the ideas that matter in most cases anyway as much as how you apply them. And anyway, I think someone willing to steal an idea wouldn't get very far without the capability to create more ideas to support it, and if he did he would probably just be able to create his own and do so anyway.

I also feel that if you're just starting out in the field you should focus less on doing your own project and more on helping someone-else accomplish theirs. It's good practice and it would be easier to find an artist. It's also harder to script then meets the eye, it took me a good three years to really get a decent handle on it, and even then I'm still learning. And no, writing prose and writing scripts are two incredibly different arts.

It also would be a good idea to post a link to a script or story that establishes your skill.

Sincerely,
