Seeking Artist(s) For Potential Collaboration

Post by AerostarMonk »

Taking a cue from a post in another thread I decided to format my own post thusly:

LOOKING FOR> PENCILERS, INKERS, COLORISTS, WRITERS, CONNECTIONS
STYLE> For artists: PRIMARILY INFLUENCED BY WESTERN ANIMATION, however I'm open to anything that will appeal to me, as I have very eclectic tastes. For writers: PRIMARILY GENRE/SPECULATIVE FICTION
SKILL LEVEL> ANY! Everyone's got to start somewhere right?
BENEFIT> UNPAID. PARTNERSHIP/COLLABORATION TO BE NEGOTIATED BUT GENERALLY EVERYONE STARTS WITH AN EQUAL SHARE OF RIGHTS WITH MAJORITY PROFIT GOING TO ARTISTS.

Hi there! I'm J.N. Monk. I LOVE writing comics. I especially love writing comics for all-ages audience and have found that I have a general affinity for female-centric stories with an escapist bent.

I recently wrote for, edited, and released a sci-fi/fantasy comic anthology called Disruption. It features the work of 8 up-and-coming artists. I'm also working on a number of other things like a short action/comedy webcomic called Gesundheit with Anna-Liza Ybarra, an Amblinesque audio drama titled The Hero Next Door, and an all-ages superhero comic called StarHammer.

Right now I'm looking for some folks to collaborate with from scratch. I'm not bringing in any dream projects that I've been working on for years or coming in with any prejudices. I really do want to start from the very beginning with someone who enjoys the same kinds of stuff I do.

And for you writers out there, I could really use a brainstorming buddy for those dream projects I AM working on. And I'm certain that at least a few of you could use one as well.

Any project that develops will be shared equally among all participants, while the artist(s) would get majority share of the profits. Those labor costs really add up and they should be treated accordingly.

The general plan is to create cool stories with cool folks. Or at the very least talk about creating cool stories.

I'll do the writing and marketing, because I really enjoy doing those things. But I understand if no one wants to take this on due to the unpaid status. My circumstances allow me to do this mostly for fun. Not everyone is so lucky and I understand and respect that.

Here's a sampling of my work. If this sort of thing is your cup of tea then email me at astro.monastery@gmail.com or PM me here or just give me a reply.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post.
