Looking for artist for short story about 60s movie star

Post by louismoon »

I'm looking for an artist with an interesting (potentially experimental) style to create a story about the career and life of a movie star in the 1960s, told from the perspective of his first wife.
It begins with the actors first major movie, his future wife is watching it with her current boyfriend, she isn't impressed, but people love him. He becomes the next big thing, everybody wants to see more and more of him.
Eventually in the story his sudden rise to fame overwhelms him, he begins taking part in activities a person in his position shouldn't be doing, drinking, drugs etc. Eventually his narcissistic lifestyle causes him to lose his wife in divorce, at a similar time his best friend loses his life, his life begins to fall apart, all in front of the beady eye of the camera, it affects him, and his mind deteriorates ending in his suicide.
I thought it would be cool to begin the story as very clean-cut artistically, but then gradually become more psychedelic as his mind begins to fall apart, but that's just an idea.
My plans for this is basically to get this out to publishers, I've heard from a few people that publishers are more likely to pick up shorter stories from unknowns, as there is less financial risk. Which fits pretty well with this story, as I can't see it continuing more than 10 issues.
The only pay I could offer would be if we got published in the form of shared profit.
So, if you fancy getting creative with me on a project that may be a little different, then shoot me an email at louisnmoon@googlemail.com or whack a comment down below.
Thanks!
