High school student writer for hire

Post by peasewhizz »

Hi. I'm a Junior in high school and I want to start writing early before college. My email is ericmichaelpease@gmail.com

Here is a sample script:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1T4r ... sp=sharing

Thank you.

I write primarily superhero scripts similar to things like Spider-Man, Hellboy, Batman, etc. However, I will 99% of the time do almost anything...

Thank you!!

Here's the thing, being a high school writer is NOT something that you should be advertising. It tells us that you're young and thus inexperienced and likely not good at managing your time (Not that you are, but that's the stigma).

Also, just starting out one does NOT ask for page rates. You'll be lucky to get an artist at all, it's just the way the market is that we're over-saturated with writers, especially writers just starting out.

Here's what you do. You post to your scripts online and you link us to them in your forum posts. You then realize that this will not start out as a professional gig, that you will likely get an artist like you that is starting out. You then, most importantly, see if you like scripting and working with an artist. This is an exploratory venture for you, not a business venture. Try to have fun with it and maybe in a few years you'll make a little money (And I speak from experience on that one.)

Sincerely,
Ruyei

You should post samples of your work to draw people in. Since you do want to be paid COD dont back down from it, write in 5 page batches and get paid for each installment before doing more. If someone offers you % of sales they arent serious about their project and not worth your time.
