this is clearly a comic to me, as it uses the letters only as representatives in pictures, which replace actual drawings in strong abstration. the question would rather be if dadaistic poem and poster designs can be understood as comis as well and i would answer yes. in the end, even if you disagree, they had an influence on comics later on. an artist using the same techniques can be found here (book published only in german)
Inline image size is a common problem on message boards. Sometimes a long URL can cause the same issue. If anyone is using the Firefox browser, then I can suggest the Nuke Anything extension. Then you can right-click (command + click on Mac?) on images (or other offending web page elements, like long URLs or advertisements or what have you) and in your context menu you have the option to remove that image (or element) from the page. Most forum pages resize back to usual with the image nuked in this fashion. This way, you get to see the image, then you can read the forum as usual. The nuked elements return when you refresh the page.
1) This is clearly a comic. Would there be any doubt?
(Do you have any arguments for why it wouldn't be a comic? Love to hear them. I'm not to interested in debating these days, but I always love to hear opinions that oppose mine. Helps me redefine and/or strengthen my own feelings about things...)
2) Why are you interested in knowing if it is a comic?
(seriously, I am wondering if there is some sort of point to be made or some sort of argument you are having with a friend that you want to get opinions on, or whatever. What is the story behind the post?)
3) It would be cool if you went back and resized that image
(Of course, I'm a -real- liberal in this category; to me, any text with intentional visual formatting is comics; in fact, the elipsis employed so often in science fiction puts a "piece" of comics overlayed with the content. The story itself remains story, but the combination of the story before and after the elipsis is a comic.)
Oh, stupid me. For some reason I was thinking tv shows. Ha ha. Could we chalk this one up to me being such a genius that little things escape me? Like Einstein not being able to dress himself or whatever? Please? I've got a lot riding on this!!
