Riley, you sent this e-mail:
Hello, Sir(I guess your name will reveal itself to me someday.)
Anyway, I'm emailing you about the post on ZWOL forums about you looking for a project. Well, I got them. However first, I better run down all the technical stuff. Let me see, if you finish illustrating my comic and so on, it will be most likely self-published. I might shop it around indie publishers for a bit but yeah. Guaranteed is you get your name on a cover and get a cool reference. I also will give you 50% of all profits, and I'll probably give you a bonus when it's all over. I really only have enough right now for a primary print run, hosting fees and maybe ads/miscellaneous. I do have a job to support this so, we'll see. That's enough details for now I think so anyway, let's see.
I have 2 ideas for miniseries, and one for a long running series. It's pretty much whichever one you decide to work on.
My first idea is a contemporary robin hood story. All the characters and such would have modern counterparts, and it would run for 3 issues. Issue 1 would deal with how he became an outlaw, his gathering of merry men & first encounter with King John and the Sheriff. The second issue would deal with his meeting Maid Marion, and the archery contest. The third issue is the coming of King Lionheart, overthrow of John and death of Robin. It's also possible that I put a fourth issue in there, because he has lots of exploits but I'm probably going to do only the main events.
Like I said, it's contemporary so they hide in sewers instead of woods, King John is just a crimelord terrorizing the neighborhood, all characters have contemporary names based on the old ones. So yeah, tell me if you're interested, and also I kind of assumed that you know the Robin Hood story in general. If you don't, it's no big deal, but I am not typing out the entire plot.
The second miniseries, I had another artist on it but he said he was going to draw concept art and then I never heard from him again. He might return, I don't know. You said you don't like superheroes, and this kind of falls in between. It's a 3 issue series that focuses on vigilantes with no powers, with a focus on comedy. Tell me if you're interested.
And the long-running series would be a periodically released comic, with a self contained story. It might work best, because you could walk after 1 issue and it wouldn't be a big deal like stories with recurring characters.
I have about 10 issues worth of plot right now. Here's a sampling.
-A guy who starts sleeping all day starts transforming into a vampire.
-Death makes a video game
-Science fiction cliches all start happening to one guy at once.
-Animals farming humans
-A guy gets sent back in time to the Titanic.
There's more, and I am not typing out all the details for those either/
Anyway that's about it. These would probably be published in black and white initially, but it's a lot cheaper to have it in full-colour when it's collected as a graphic novel.
Hrm, some things about me are; I working with Affinity comics as an editor in training of sorts. The only award for writing I've ever gotten is when I wrote a script for a local film festival. It won best script, then got sent on and won best picture and best script elsewhere.
That's all,
Riley
I did not reply to you for the following reasons:
1.) None of your ideas interested me.
2.) You only have ideas, no finished scripts.
3.) "

Gee, thanks Riley...
Frankly, Riley, your ideas were weak and dull. And the language of your e-mail shows me you don't have an educated and literary grasp of the English language. I chose not to reply to you, because I judged a collaboration with you to be a waste of my time.
And how dare you muddy up my post, by saying I am not a serious artist!
To any
SERIOUS writers, I read all proposals sent to me and respond to those that are at least competent.
