I am a writer seeking illustrator for a Steampunk graphic novel. The concept and premise is complete, and the specifics of the script are subject to change. Publication is being considered under a range of means and formats (Web and Paper alike).
Before you read any further however, I have to be blunt: I have little to no experience in the comic industry. I studied film, have done work in that industry, and I also write. Some people dislike this lack of experience, and for that reason I feel compelled to tell readers that I am aware of the disadvantage and potential risk of such a position in this project. At the same time, however, I feel that this project is worth taking a risk for, and that it would be worth publishing upon completion.
As such, here what I am looking for:
I am looking for an artist who wants to collaborate with me. I would be more than happy to do all of the writing, but would also be very interested in working with someone who I will at least be able to bounce ideas off of.
In relation to that, I am looking for an artist who both excels at his/her craft, but is also easy and fun to work with.
IMPORTANT: Interest in/ appreciation for Steampunk is extremely important. Steampunk is not only the genre of this particular story, it is also a genre that I feel has room to be more fully explored, artistically.
I would prefer that this project stay outside an anime and/or Manga style (I have nothing against those styles, I just don’t see it for this project).
Past experience in comic illustrating (possibly even publishing) a graphic novel is nice, but it is not at all required. What is required is patience and dependability as we work together trying to make this happen.
Compensation will be 50/50 if and when the project is completed and creative rights will be shared. I am in the process of working on a business model/plan.
If interested, or want to discus the project further, you can contact me at:

I can forward a treatment of the idea and other information. Resumes are nice, samples are better, both simultaneously are great.
