Artist looking for paid work

Post by TannerArt »

You can see my stuff at http://tannerwiley.deviantart.com .

I'm a writer as well so I am working on my own projects in between paid projects. So if you have "a bitchin' story that pwns" and want me to work for free/spec/deferred/profit-sharing, I already have my fill of that.

Experience:
One movie on DVD from Sony Pictures.
2 Years of a webcomic - ended for reason of moving to print only.
6 years animating/production art for a children's software company.
A variety of Indy comics published from age 12 to present consisting of self-made-stapled to assembled-by-printers.

As a production artist, I was oft times required to help out on other projects that I didn't originate and therefor would adopt a new style of art to help complete that project.

While I prefer actual paid work at industry rates or close to them, if a project is enticing enough I will consider it.

That said: pitch me if you have that well thought out project and a plan for getting it out there.

If there's potential for profit from it, even better. As long as we can come up with a contract for the back end profit sharing then there may be a chance we can work together.

All that said, for those of you that have contacted me - it's important to realize that artists work long and hard at their craft. Most typical pencil artists on a comic book will spend more than 12 hours on a page (depending on the style - typical in this case referring to Marvel DC Dark Horse etc level quality art). Asking someone to work free on a spur of the moment project that you think is "bitchin'", and you want 135 pages of art.... well put yourself in their shoes - 135 pages at an average of 12 hours each is 40 weeks of work at a full time 40 hour a week job. The artist is going to wanna know that this is gonna go somewhere.

Thanks.

Tanner,

I have a plan for an ongoing web comic series. Your artwork would be beyond perfect for it. Honestly I am not sure what industry rates are, plus I am kind of on the poor end and couldn't pay all at once, but I would be willing to discuss things with you. Drop me a line for more details:
