I live in Traverse City MI. I have two projects with multiple issues written and ready for a dedicated artist (or two-three-twelve) to work with.
I'm not going to tell you that this is "the next big thing" or that doing this will "put your face out there and make you famous"
I'm a writer that loves to write. I am looking for an artist that loves what s/he does.
I currently have two projects that have completed written issues and story lines.
Project 1: A teenaged comic book that takes place in 1997-2001 (with some needed flashbacks) This is more coming of age, family friendly teen super heroes trying to find themselves and their "place in this world" This book has 13 issues written which break down into stories like this: 1-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13. (and stories scripted through issue 25, with stories plotted through 100 issues) This book may be compiled into graphic novels of 6 issues at a time due to cost effectiveness.
Project 2: Modern day story about former teenaged heroes who have been forced to make a lot of serious decisions over their career, making them question if through these choices they may have in reality become villains. This book is more "grown up" and would have grit, gore and big people situations. I have 5 completed issues, with a 6th being worked on to finish the story. This would require one artist for all 6 issues. And the story can easily continue for at least 12 more issues based on current concept design.
A third project is also in the works, which deals with time travel and a lot of history. I am looking for someone to co-write this book. The person I would be looking for would need to have an aptitude for world history and a desire to have some fun with it.
For art.... I am willing to consider (reasonably) paying for the right artist. HOWEVER, if I pay, I own! This would require legal documentation and this is definitely not my first choice.
My goal would be to find an artist to collaborate with on the project and we would split any earnings 50/50 (minus publishing costs, which I would be more than happy to front)
Please feel free to hit me up with any questions or interest at yvinproject@gmail.com or post here if you have any questions or would like to show your work.
When sending a message, please include what your preference and terms would be, tell me what you like or would prefer out of working together and please be willing to dedicate yourself if you are interested.
Thanks for looking.
