Published comic artist ready for new commissions

Post by GerryKissell »

Hello. My name is Gerry Kissell. I have been a commercial artist and illustrator for over 22 years. In 2010, IDW's senior writer, Tom Waltz, talked me into leaving my art career in advertising to do comics. I began by working on The A-Team: War Stories for IDW and 20th Century Fox and Army of Two for IDW and EA Games. Since then I have stayed busy doing comics; pencils, inks and colors, I am proficient at all of it. Included in my retinue of work was helping Remedy Entertainment develop (as well as) draw Xbox's Alan Wake graphic novel, and for Blind Spot Pictures and IDW I did the movie tie-in comic for the hit sci-fi film Iron Sky. Last fall I created, and illustrated IDW's best selling graphic novel Code Word: Geronimo. Most recently I completed a ten page comic called Tuebor, for Strength In Numbers Studios.

Samples of my work can be viewed here...http://gerrykissell.com/samples/

Some quotes about my work:
"Gerry is an art making machine. Just a beast."
Ted Adams, CEO, IDW Publishing

"Gerry is the consummate comic-book artist they'll tell you doesn't exist any more."
Chris Ryall, Editor-in-Chief, IDW Publishing

"The guy is the future of realistic action comics."
Rob Simpson, Editor-in-Chief, EA Games Comics.

"One of my favorite artists. The one true heir to Al Williamson's realistic style."
Tom Waltz, Senior Writer, IDW Publishing

Here is the new Doctor Who pin-up I just created. I penciled, inked and colored it.

Thanks. I drew and colored it this last Friday for a sci-fi/fantasy game convention I was attending over the weekend. It went over huge at the convention.
