Hey whats up everyone! This is my first time posting here, and I already dig the site. Im the owner of a Facebook page by the name of The Gothamite, dedicated solely to batman, and I had an idea for a Batman related webcomic, but its not really about batman persay…
I have the first issue script done, will only be two, or possibly 3 pages tops, for every issue. It's a great story, at least in my opinion, but I need a good artist on my side with me. I'm open to working 50- 50, there will be no Bob Kane, Jerry Finger nonsense going down, you have my word. No money will be changing hands because if that were to happen we'd totally get sued, ya know? But It'd make an AMAZING portfolio piece, and I'm going to incorporate a ridiculous amount of Bat-Mythos. I DO NOT need any writers, Artists only please.
If you're a bat-fan, and feel like you want to be apart of this, or even if you're just interested in hearing more about the synopsis of the story shoot me an email. You can contact me at, bryan.hoover@me.com , I'll respond rather quickly any time of the day! Please attach a few pieces of artwork you've done in the past along with your email, looking forward to finding an artist! Talk to you guys soon,
-Bryan.

Re: getting sued
I checked it all out before even considering, I've even checked with other writers who have done/still are doing DC related webcomics. Like Yale Stewart, the man behind JL8, and some others as well. It's kinda like doing "Fan Art". Just a different form.emocort wrote:you should ask DC first. they can still sue you for intellectual property infringement even though you arent making money from it.they can be real dicks about it if they want to. better to be 100% certain but its up to you in the end.

How so? Scott Snyder retweeted tons of JL8 issues, I realize he's only a writer, but he is working for DC constantly. Last I heard from Yale, roughly a month or two ago, he said hed not heard anything from DC, yet he knew he was on thin ice. He was worried, but still it's no different than fan art. Or fan films. Or fan related topics. We won't be making a dime off of this project, it's solely for fun and creative challenge. If DC isn't sueing artists on Deviant art for drawing batman and green lantern, I don't see how they would sue me and the artist collaborating with me. It's would make no sense.takingbackshawn wrote:I've also talked to Yale Stewart because I am a huge fan of JL8...and DC still has given him a lot of shit. They even wanted it taken down. He gets away with it, but still has to deal with shit.
