Comedy/Gothic Horror pitch needs artist (Unpaid)

Post by ElectronicComic »

Hey everyone,

I'm a writer whose been self publishing since 2011, and has a graphic novel coming out titled Electronic (www.facebook.com/electroniccomic) through Blackline Comics (www.blacklinecomics.com). The main artist on Electronic has gone on to do a project with Red 5 that got optioned by Bryan Singer (http://spinoff.comicbookresources.com/2 ... s-haunted/) I've worked on some smaller projects, submissions, and am collaborating with others as well.

I have a full script for a comedy/gothic horror comic titled Job Hunters that I'm looking to collaborate with an artist to put a pitch together and submit around. It's about two fairly recent college grads that can't find work, whom stumble onto a creepy pawn shop run by an Elvira like character who can find them temp jobs, but they all involve a confrontation with ancient evil. It's a critique on how we never really get the job we think we're going to get, with all of the additional responsibilities and so forth.

The first issue, In The Mall Of Madness, sees Kevin and Randy get temp jobs as overnight security in a mall, when the mannequins come to life and try to kill them, they think.

If someone is interested, let me know and if you wanna pm me or leave an e-mail I could send the script over. I do have multiple people to pitch this to who are interested, but obviously I can't make any promises or guarantees that it will be picked up due to factors out of my control. And of course if it gets picked up we'd split any profits.

My main priority is to get this out there. I've spent a lot of money on self publishing, tabling at conventions, so I just can't guarantee any sort of payment because of my situation. I just got a table for MoCCA in NYC, and plan on tabling a couple of other shows this year so I'm a little tight in that department for now. I'd love to be able to pay, but at the moment at least, I don't have the resources to give much. This is also why I'm asking for a pitch and not the entire first issue. If someone is willing to flesh out the whole first issue I'm more than happy to work with that person but I understand how time consuming that is.

Anyways, thanks for reading and have a great day!
