Looking For Artist

Post by slyfoxcomics »

I am planning on having a poster (or file large enough to print a poster) made. I'm looking for something in the 80's fantasy art style or similar. I want a portrait of myself as a pirate posing (maybe in a storm on a ship) with some mermaids in it (or one gripping my leg or something). I know this idea is ridiculous and I'm looking for something over the top. Please email me at ashtonbromley@yahoo.ca if you are interested.

Right Place?

Given that this is a comic forum for comic creator you may be looking in the wrong place. Not because I'm some sort of exclusivist and what not, but doing comics and doing pin ups are completely different things. I know for one I would not work with an artist that showed me pin-ups and no comics, and it seems to be similar the other way around in that the two crafts take different skill-sets. Also, people specifically look for comic projects on here, it's this forum's specialty. True you may find someone here, but think on the fact that many pro covers are made by cover specialists and such. Haha, given that you may just find what you're looking for! Still, I think you may get a better result elsewhere, but still I wish you the best of luck finding help here. Artists have to eat too after all (And you should be prepared to pay a bundle for what you propose).

Sincerely,

I am looking in the right place. Although this is not a comic request, it is basically just a comic cover. I would expect to find both page and cover artists on this site. My current comic that I am writing (I am multiple issues in and have been selling very well at 5 separate comic conventions over the past two years) started as a poster I had my friend (now artist) make. And like then, now if I like the work done I will probably hire them for work on my comic. I already have ideas for a one off if this poster were to become a cover. And to avoid this question in the future, I am not asking my current artist because she just got hired by EA and is hugely backlogged.
