Published Writer Seeking Artist

Post by Jojokuk »

Hello,

My name is Jojo King, I have two published series under my belt: http://www.indyplanet.com/front/?product=120236 & https://www.facebook.com/InsaneComicsDo ... 1138822182

I have great relationships with publishers and can guaranteed that a project I work on will be reviewed for digital and print publishing. I also actively submit for reviews from sites like Comic Crusaders, Big Glasgow Comics, and the Fanboy Comics websites. I have strong and established relationships with cover designers, colorists, and letterers as well. I'm easy to work with and am always open to suggestions so every collaboration is an open one with equal input.

Now I am willing to write on an existing project you might have in mind, or I have a handful of scripts who do not currently have artists attached to them. I will write for free if the artist is serious. You don't have to be a professional, if this is your first then great! Just have a professional attitude and we will get along great! Here is a synopsis on one project

One is called "Golden Age" and even though it is a super hero script, it is different. It is different in the fact that its writer (me) hates super heroes. I'm a horror fan all the way and I aim to make a super hero comic with pitch black comedy, subversive elements, and of course, some psychological horror thrown into the mix. The comic follows a new superhero who calls herself Voodoo doll as she tries to break into the scene of the "perfect" hero era of the 50s.
Voodoo Doll (real name Heather) has a regenerating healing power and also the power in whatever pain she inflicts upon herself, is also inflicting upon the person she is focusing on. This meaning she can disembowel herself and her enemy's stomach will rip itself open and have his/her intestines spill out. I think this power alone makes this hero unique.
Also what will set it apart is that Heather deals with mental illness. As the series goes on, the comic gets darker, scarier, and more hallucinogenic and surreal as she falls deeper off the end. Also her healing factor starts to deteriorate (like metabolism) so her wounds start to not heal as quickly or as well.
So what starts out as a dark superhero comedy will fall into a dark horror tale about a woman with an identity crisis, mental health issues, and a power that is killing her.

Pay would be profits split 60-40 (60 going to the artist) along with merchandising and advertisement revenues. I can manage some upfront pay but most of my funds are tied in other projects. Remember, this is for an artist who wants an established writer to help get them published and more exposure.

I hope either this synopsis or the prospect for adding me onto one of your projects (be that already existing or wanting to get started) has been piqued by this ad. Thank you for reading and I hope we get a chance to make great comics and get them out there! My email jojokuk@yahoo.com
