Need help, how does one format a page for printing!!?

Post by Ruyei »

Here's the thing, I handed a script out to an artist months ago with the instructions "Do what you want with it, but if you can do anything useful with it let me know and I'll help you out to the best of my ability." I find out recently that the little script I did, a comic about two kids whose tablet game makes their figurines come to life and fight in a strategic manner due to future technology, is on the short list for acceptance for Megabook 4. At this point the artist only had three sketches and to his request that I find a letterist I said "Lets wait till your inks are done. He comes to me with the inks with a friendly reminder "the due date is June 30th." Now it looks like it all falls on me to get it ready with lettering and formatting

I think I'll be able to letter due to a lot of the tips I received the last time I almost had to letter, but the primary problem right now is how to get the right formatting in GIMP or any other free software I can get.

Here are the requirements
Pages to be formatted to standard 6x9 size with 1/8" bleed (or more). 300 dpi resolution, .tiff, jpg or eps format. Preferrably .tiff." I'm guessing that the 300 dip resolution and other formats were provided by the artist (if not I'll ask him about it) but I'm worried about formatting it so the gutters aren't showing. Any advice before I plunge head first into this?

Sincerely,
Ruyei

P.S. If you are interested in doing rush job lettering by june 30th for six pages and your style is publishable than sure welcome aboard. But at this point I think it's highly unlikely any of you here would be interested in that, even if it does mean publication and credit (And yes Megabook 4 does not pay). Still, my e-mail is robert-finch@comcast.net. All posts asking for money for the gig will be ignored because I'm not getting paid either.
