Team seeking Colorist

Post by creepsville »

Greetings talented Colorists!

My team currently has an outstanding comic in production and after doing some of the coloring myself, I've found that my workload of writing, inking, lettering, and putting the book together has become too cumbersome. I'd really like to find a solid Dave Stewart inspired colorist (love his work on The Goon) to work with.

Log Line: A rogue Witch Hunter roams a perilous feudalistic Japan solving macabre mysteries, slaying witches and demons while looking for a way to clear his name as his Witch Hunter kin pursue him for a murder in the royal family.

We have a kind of a unique set up with our book. One that might make it easier than your average coloring job.

We have a great shader who's providing us with ink washes. If you were to join us I'd show you our color work so far as examples for what we are looking for. I color in the flats, as the ink washes already provide our shading for us. Then over some areas I add color to the ink washes, giving the book a wonderful natural, almost water color, painted look. Really simple and the best part is, the result looks fantastic.

If you'd like to toss your hat into the arena and see if this project is for you, I can promise that you'll find that we are working on something truly unique. We're still plugging full steam ahead and so far the book may end up being about two 22 page issues in length. And that's just our first story.

We can't offer pay now, but if you want to diversify your portfolio and help make something unique with a solid creative team please send me an email explaining your interest and with links or attached examples.

I look forward to hearing from you. We're submitting our book to Oni Press this week so we could possibly be a book on it's way to the shelves soon.
