Fantasy Author seeking collaborator (paid)

I am a long time publishing professional who is making the leap to becoming an author of a major epic fantasy project. So far I have about 50,000 words written of my first book, but am in early stages as yet. Long term I am looking to adapt the project into a graphic novel which I will script.

But FIRST I am looking for artwork to construct a website around.
I would like to commission banner art, character sketches, setting illustrations, etc.

Artists interested should have a strong command of the fantasy genre, able to illustrate fantasy characters/creatures AND detailed architectural settings--castles, medieval/ancient cityscapes. Characters/creatures include were-creatures, warlocks, knights, dragons, demons, ogres, elves. There will be new interpretations of all the various fantasy races. Characters, creatures, architecture, and landscapes will all be very important to creating the look and feel of the website.

I am looking for a long term partnership here--so am looking for someone who wants to help create a 'signature look' that goes with my work which is a blend of dark fantasy, gothic, with the occasional hints of sci-fi (down the road).

Eventually, I will also be pitching this to table-top gaming companies and electronic game producers as an RPG. So visual impact will be quite important.

As far as style, imagine something that combines DragonAge with a touch of Mignola's Hellboy. Or, if you have a sense of history, Willy Pogany meets Gustav Dore. This is something that could be a lot of fun and hopefully the beginning of a long, rewarding partnership.

I will pay and would be interested in hearing what your rates are for the kinds of work I'm looking for.
