Fantasy Artist seeking work/collaboration

Post by theartistrsp »

Hello, my name is Ralph and I'm a 34 year old aspiring comic book artist. I've been drawing as far back as I can remember and have enjoyed the medium for nearly as long.

I am not the greatest artist in the world, but I do enjoy drawing.

I've just recently moved out from a homeless shelter that I had been staying in for the last 11 months due to financial complications. I have just recently gotten a large format scanner and other tools back into my possession that I would normally use to create my art.

There are some hitches. I have a job that does take time away from the drawing table, but this is necessary to keep me in a living condition that is more comfortable versus being in a shelter.

That time away from the table, combined with my being a slow artist means that any project that I take on may take some time to see completion.

I do not have direct internet connection, but instead have to use my mobile hotspot on my smartphone, and do most of my uploading from said phone, which is sometimes a pain.

I have posted here before and started a project with other collaborators but this last go of it I lost my place and had to move to a shelter. So that project went bust. I am still unable to contact those individuals, and with that being as such, I've decided to try and take on a new project.

What I am wanting to do is a fantasy comic. Perhaps the best thing would be a one shot and see how things work from there.

I am looking to draw something with a real classic dungeons and dragons, warhammer, warcraft type of feel and look to it.

But basically the only thing that I am interested in working on is a fantasy based project.

I'm hoping to collaborate with someone that shares a love for the fantasy genre as much as I do. This person would supply the story (for the most part, co-writing is an option) and hopefully find the means to distribute the work, finding a colorist (if wanted) and what other tasks are necessary for the project to be a success.

So basically what I am saying is I am just the artist.

My work can be viewed here http://artistrsp4.deviantart.com/.

Should you have a story that you think would benefit from my style and linework then by all means please send me an email.

artistrsp4@yahoo.com

Please be aware however that I do take my time and won't rush my work at the expense of the quality.

So if you have a story, that's let's say is 28 pages in length, please do not expect it to be drawn in 28 days.

I have some rust still to shake off the pencil but what I have on my deviantart page under the december 2015 folder is what I have sketched up in the last couple of days.

My 9 to 5 has to be my biggest priority but I hope that someone out there has something that I could lend my touch to.

If you've managed to read this far, then I thank you and apologize for the lengthy post. I just wanted to make sure that I clarified as much as possible from this point to save any headaches later.

Regards,
Artist RSP4

Good

This is actually some good stuff.

I wish you the best of luck, but perhaps offer to do a short comic for now as you get your life straight. I'd offer to work with you but I'm busy, but I think you're a great catch.

Sincerely,
Ruyei

Keep at it and work on ways to draw at a faster pace. I really like what I see and would love to hit you up for a shorter project in the future that would be more fantasy/horror.

I'm putting your deviant art in my bookmarks.

Wanted to say thank you to all for your interest and words of encouragement.

I've found a project that I believe I will be good for.

Merry Christmas to you all!
