Writer Needs Artist For 4 Issue Sci-Fi/Horror Mini *PAID*

Post by MGordon »

Hi everyone,

My name is Michael Gordon and I am a published comics writer. Most recently I had a short story in the 'Out Of The Blue: A Collection Of Campfire Tales' anthology graphic novel from Stache Publishing.

Here is a link to my Tumblr page, which has a sample 4 page script on it entitled 'The Other Man In The Mirror'. I pitched that story to a panel of 2000AD experts at Thought Bubble 2015 and came third in the overall competition. My Tumblr also has some other stuff about my projects: http://michaelgordonwriter.tumblr.com/

Anyhoo, I am looking for an artist to collaborate with on a 4-issue undersea horror/sci-fi miniseries that is currently in production with a well known UK Indie publisher. The publisher is quickly gaining a reputation as a place for the industry to spot new talent, as one of their writer/artist teams recently began a series at Image Comics, and that artist also has work due soon with Boom Studios.

Each issue will be 20 pages long, and the first two scripts are completed, edited and ready to go. The previous artist has had to leave the project, unfortunately, so this is a great opportunity for a reliable, awesome artist to come aboard a project that is already in motion and aiming for publication in September as a trade paperback (preceded by a digital release of the single issues). That date might need to be pushed back, as we have lost some time in needing to replace the artist, so please don't necessarily be put off by this deadline, as the publisher is flexible.

I am offering $1000 for the four 20 page issues ($12.50 per pencilled and inked page). I am aware this is a low rate, so am hoping to offset this by also offering the artist 40% of the creators cut of backend revenue.

If anyone is interested, please send me a PM or e-mail mikeonfireAThotmailDOTcom with samples of your work and we can discuss the project further.

Thanks!

Thank you to everyone who has e-mailed and messaged me about this job.

The position has been filled, so this thread is now closed.

Thanks again!
