Looking for both writers and artists for big project

Okay, I'm going to jump right in this, I have a few ideas for comics that I want to create. I do a little writing and I also draw, however, I am only one man and I've come to realize that I shine better in collaborations. It helps me brainstorm and I feel like it makes better projects. I'm an idea guy and my brain doesn't seem to stay on one thing long enough to effectively do it justice. I want to build something bigger than me and I want to help other people build something they can be proud of.

So here is my pitch. I want to create a studio of sorts using Patreon.com. If you aren't familiar with the site, essentially it is a site that helps artists and creators sell and distribute their arts. They take a small cut (I believe it is 5% of profits) and the artist takes the rest. A quick Google search can tell you more but know that it is a really great site. I'm looking for artists and writers to not only help create my ideas but to also see their ideas come to life. I want to do this big. I'm looking into marketing and other support and I have alot of ideas. I'll be honest and say I don't know step by step how to go about making this happen but I believe that if a group of like-minded people share a passion for something and work toward it, everything will work itself out.

My girlfriend is the money maker of my house and she supports me and my risky ventures because she believes in me and I don't want her to be wrong. Anyone interested can reply here or message more for more information. I'd love any input and ideas. Thank you for reading this nonetheless.

Your story sounds surprisingly similar to my own.

I graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) majoring in Sequential Art (comics). I currently work at home as a freelance artist attempting to gain some success. It's funny what you said about your girlfriend. I am in the same exact situation.

Everything you've explained that you want to do with Patreon, Penstrike does in our goal to help emerging artists (visual, literary etc). We feature undiscovered artists and writers while interviewing established names to bring focus on the underdogs and we've now opened our shop where projects from all mediums of art will be sold. We are putting together a collaborative graphic novel anthology that writers and artists can apply for, a few graphic novels in the works and other artistic projects.

We built a following first by helping artists and now that our following wants products we are putting them out. When people come for literary work, they are exposed to visual arts, graphic novels and emerging artists. We cross promote, market and provide a platform to drive an efficient sales pipeline. We're artists and writers and the mission was to solve the problems that we faced, for other creative minds that face the same.

We have a post on this forum about our current collaborative graphic novel and our <a href="http://www.penstrikepublishing.com">Penstrike Publishing</a> website.

I'll PM a few people on this thread that are looking for what we have to offer. Even our literary and arts magazine that we just put out features some sequential art.
