That's a fair and understandable point. Normally the way that I work things is I put out that I'm in need of ABC... and when people submit their work, I reach out with a detailed overview of the project and we go from there if they're interested.

I don't normally discuss page rates up front because I like for people to take on a project because they're interested in the story not just the money. If I said hey I'm paying $200 a page for pencils, then chances are someone will want to do it and not really be into the story and then the energy is off.

Given that I've got 4 open projects working in parallel I think this process is working pretty well for me. And it's obviously working for the talent attached. I did see that you responded to one of my earlier posts. You were on my list of people to reach out to, I just haven't gotten through all the submission just yet. But I'm guessing I can scratch you off my list now.
